Vinea Marson Rose 2014
This has to be one of the season’s best roses. It’s made from 100% sangiovese, which gives it a savoury edge to its natural Turkish-Delight-like fragrance. Crisp, clean, light-crimson, lengthy – I never buy rose, but I’m going to score a few bottles of this. It is fabulous.
Vinea Marson is the name of the vineyard and wine label of Mario and Helen Marson and their daughters. The property was purchased in 1999 and it is situated on the eastern slopes of the Mount Camel Range in the Heathcote region, Central Victoria. The first plantings occurred in 2000 and included Shiraz, Viognier, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Barbera. We produced our first small quantity of wine in 2004, which was released in late 2005.
